About Us

Deaf Children New Zealand is a parent-led, volunteer organisation that supports parents and families of Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children.
Our focus is on supporting parents, families and whānau, and ensuring that Deaf and Hard of Hearing children have appropriate access to the education curriculum and social experiences within the schooling environment.
Parents & Parent Groups

DCNZ supports the nine Regional Parents Groups spread out from Northland to Southland, Regional Parent Groups are the best place to find local information and support.
We have lots of information for parents and caregivers about their journey in parenting a child who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Join DNCZ

To become a Member of DCNZ is free and your child will be sent a Member Information Kit, which includes useful information for you and books, DVDs or accessories suitable for your child.
We also forward your details to your Regional Parent Group, if there is one in your area. Parent Groups are the best source of local information and peer support.
Get Funding

DCNZ can assist families in various ways financially, through sports and education scholarships, as well as subsidising Tutors for NCEA students, NZSL Classes, or Speech-language therapy.
There are grants for individuals and Parent Groups.
